I'll start by saying I've fallen foul of getting sucked into the adventure biking scene. But I feel good, very good. A lot less financially well off however.
The HU-event was ore inspiring but I wasn't my cheerful self with things popping up that I didn't want to deal with pre 2/3 days to trip start.
What did I chose to do? Clock over 2,000 miles of Europe & see atleast 7 country's. A new country every day finishing with a go on 'The Ring'. I didn't have a planned route, I literally banged my finger on the screen & set off. Doing atleast 1 hour on the back roads in each country. To take in the smells & atmosphere.
==============================================
This is my first ride-report & first Europe trip on a motorbike, I visited 9 country's clocking over 3,000 miles in 6 days. Final day in & around the Nürburgring doubling as my rest period.
My kit was over the top so we wont go there too much. Outdoor advanced bivy worked brilliantly, even stowing my helmet & Adventure-spec suit beside me in it.
Cooking was using a Coleman's 533 dual-fuel stove, route was all covered with a Garmin Zumo 660,...rather than my Spot2 unit. It was sent for firmware update & the american truckers took there sweet trucking time sending it back. I've paid good money for the services the unit provides me & really annoyed I couldn't share my trip using this device.
It's just one of those things but I'm swaying my head just thinking about it. I'd of done more farm fields if I'd of had the piece of mind I can press a button & emergency services would come to me. *Points @screen* That's the only downer I have from my own personal epic trip. So FU spot-company I will be complaining on my spot-adventure account!
Took my Panasonic Toughbook & it lasted the week, 12 hour battery on low saving mode. Gave me loads of time too transfer footage from my two contourHD 1080p units. The only time I didn't get footage were I really wanted it was on 'The Ring'. My rear view camera worked (was pissing cats & dogs down between 5-7pm) so my 15 odd minutes of footage will be chopped in half, for those that wanna gander at rear view of a wet wet track. So my front facing helmet cam inside a huge waterproof mount didn't work...I was warned they might ban you for videoing the circuit.
My route covered, France/Belgium/Netherlands/Germany/Austria/Slovenia/Italy/Switzerland/Luxembourg, with me going in & out of certain country's a few times. Haven't got a clue so far how to get the tracking data from my Garmin Zumo 660 so please feel free to PM me instructions.
Been the uber gadget trucker I am,..my youtube account is going to explode with my videos!!! What amazing roads I've covered, 90-95% using motorways. I could not of done what I did with B-roads in my time frame. The only thing I knew leaving UK was I can ride a motorbike for over 600+miles a day.
I'll add links to my videos once I've spent sometime learning the software I've swapped with Gipsy (off of here).
I had inner tubes & other backups for problems but thankfully barr breaking my top-box mounting lock with off-roading. I had a Euphoric experience which I hope my longterm biker mates will decide to join me on my next one.
Here are 20 pictures to give you a flavour of my journey. The videos will be far better]
The kit I should of only took..
My bro Stuart & father Tony with best mate John, quick drink/barbaque before my late night off on the chunnel.
Puddy cat Singe leaving her sent trail for good luck!
Channel tunnel,...pre-book ffs for half price fare. Someone didn't book his ticket @mates in Watford & was charged £74 out-going..*Tit moment over*
Buying memorabilia, was a strange shop in Rotterdam ..don't remember much]
Camping in German woodland. Surrounded by 20 glowing bugs,..very cool setting up camp with this happeneing around me.
Down in Austria, the morning after I panic texted Santrix for contacting Everywherevirtually for the next days linkup in Linz.
Jon giving me the international sign of a safe journey] Good man, brilliant chatting to Marian & her mother. It's about extending the hand of friendship & I'm glad we met up Jonathan.
Few random shots as I dont want to show off the terrain too much.
Near Nürburgring
Ow the tunnels..one I can recall as I timed it. I was doing 65mph & it took 6-7 minutes to travel through.. Lovely & cool as Europe was on average 32-35degrees daytime.
The downers.. Mozzy bites, ticks,..other biting bugs. Uber numb bum as my putnam's stadium seat (cheap version of airhawk) broke week before my off & I forgot to order one.

Leaving my bulky kit in some random wood. Before few hours ride about.

Part of the Global VLBI-Array.

Coming back, proper chuffed nothing had overly hindered my adventure!

Oh the fake joy of seeing this trucking thing had arrived whilst I was abroad.

Till the videos..
Ps: I left no litter & took no stones/tins-of-dirt/plants for keeps.
