guzzi , some assembley required

Nce job Phil. :thumb

Seeing your lovely green tank reminds me, I'll be looking for any tank buying advice you have. Looking at an ali job, like the tank shop do, bloomin long waiting list though. Found a couple of others too, including India - PITA sending it back if it doesn't fit!
Any recommendations (or avoids) would be most welcome.

The 8" Headlight , was sourced from Gutsi Bits .
The brackets were sourced in Thailand ! i know .

I have a mental image , You always get one or the Other , Its Either ,, Ed , Or Guy ,
the Mental image of Ed , Is a Burly chap with dirty overalls , a beanie hat and a pot belly , that knows Guzzi,s but is seriously reluctant tp tell you about it
but if pressed , he cant stop ..
Guy , Well , theres a smile ,,, My mental image of Guy is : Do you remeber the Assistant in "Notting Hill" Yeah , the one with the
cardigan and Beard ...!
Any ,imagery aside , they are both Good Guys and Helpfull .

I dont know the guy in the tank shop , but he has a waiting list
and doesnt deliver on Time , any time . So that would be an Avoid for me.
Tab Tanks have Guzzi tanks in stock and are available to buy at sensible money , BUT , you need to Firmly fix the Goal posts .. Things can change .
For me i like the "le man tank" ,so i think thats where i am going..

This being my first "Big Twin " Tonti framed machine , i have had a lot of new experiances , which are not over yet , but i
can now see "How things Work" and how i can place different componentry in different places to achieve a different look.
I spose i could do it on this , but having got this far am happy with what i have achieved..

Exhausting !

I dunno , sometimes , i think it might just be chaeper to buy the item
your after instead of taking something similar and making it what you
want ..

A Big + for the End result was the Bead Blasting finish which was very easy to sand down and leave super smooth
The VHT paint surprised me , it is quite a durable finish as well.

See my nice , New old stock Showas on the Back , a beefier look , i think

Its Alive , Its Alive ..

I just " Dont Do" electrics ,
Surprisingly i managed quite a bit , but had to call in a Motor electrician ,
he came in the guise of an electrical engineer , who had never looked
at a motorcycle before . He reckoned a circuit is a Circuit ,, no matter
where . He admitted tho , that it was a little daunting ..

So , Today , for the First Time ,,,,, It started .

And in time honored tradition ,!,

The fact that it started and Ran ,,,,,

It unearthed a Quandry .

Originally it came with a Lucas Alternator .
I felt that the one intended ,would be a better bet ,so i got a complete Bosch Unit .

Now , The Lucas had a Spacer to hold it out from the Casings.
This spacer has an O.D. of 30cm , which is perfect for the Oil Seal ,
The Bosch rotor has a End that is 28cm , and ,, yes you guessed
Oil , oil everywhere ..

Its Funny , The Bits i had little or no faith in Worked.

I had little faith in the Amal Carbs , but i proceeded no the less ,
3rd turn and she fired ..

Although they are 30,s i will settle for these for now..

I was trying to figure how to frame these

The twist grip had been sitting about for a long time ,
I didnt expect it to "throttle "
but a little time and effort , re-lubed the circular motion , and ,,
Plug and play
