Hey guys,

Just about to buy a set of H&B engine bars and looking at the upper set as well... question is are the upper set more cosmetic than protection??

I can appreciate the value of the engine bars but upper ones seem cosmetic to me??

Am I wrong:nenau

Cheers
John

I have the upper engine bars and am sure they offer some protection but have to admit I bought them for the GSA looks. The H&B bars are a PITA to fit/remove. I have adapted mine so they are easier to move out of the way for access to side panels.

I have both engine and upper H&B bars. I too have to admit that I bought the upperbars for cosmetic reasons. I do wonder that if in the event of a spill that the upperbars might transfer the crash forces onto the small black bars that the upper U bolts are attached to. These black bars hold the "beak" in place (and probally other parts). So in the end would these upper tank proctecting H&B bars be of use?
