h/l bulb types

Collecting a new 1150GS in a couple of weeks time, I've got a HID conversion to fit to it (from my S) can anyone tell me which bulbs the 1150 uses, The S uses an H1 and an H7, I believe the GS uses 2 H1's, if so I want to order another one from the States.

Hey, tell me more. I have a Touratech HID spotlight, but converting the main lights sounds a great idea.

Got them from the States, via a group purchase with an S forum. Paid just under £300, because we were buying several sets the supplier was happy to fix the bulb types, obviously they're a car kit and normally come with a pair of matched bulbs. they're 8000k ones so are quite blue and VERY bright. Just waiting for the GS to come(next week) so I can see if I can find somewhere to mount the ballast boxes. Still waiting for someone to tell me which bulbs an 1150GS takes!

H1, like Wreford said.

Personally I can't see the point of fitting HIDs to the existing lamps. You can chuck out as many candles as you like, but it still won't point any further up the road.

Have to wait and see, all I know is that the difference on the S was remarkable!

Look at http://www.a-pp.com/shop/piaa_HID.htm and then say "ouch". Unless £313.97 EACH is considered reasonable.

Makes the Touratech HID look economical. Speaking of which is the T-HID any good?

Touratech make it so it's probably crap.. And its probably made by someone else snd rebadged anyway.

T Hid made by Hella with a bracket and guard added for the Touratech look. It's a fantastic light though. Keep us all posted if you go for the conversion 'cause we're all nosey buggers!
