Hammerite: satin or smooth?

The smooth is the best finish in my opinion, but the hardest to spray with if your a can novice....
The other thing worth considering about Hammerite is that when it gets warm (even if its close to heat) it gives off fumes (and not the trippy ones).
Hammerite sent a disclaimer to all suppliers 5 or so years ago as they don't write it on the cans.
Normal Halfords stuff is better in my experience, and with the occasional promotions they do a lot cheaper!
Cheers and tata

Think you will find that the smoothrite and satin are in fact both smooth as opposed to the hammered finish. I personally think the satin finish is a better match for the original

Thanks

Thanks for the replies.
I'm quite pleased with the end result - after initial worries about the coverage and adhesion. I wonder if it will be as durable as brush-applied hammerite.

If you use the aerosol spray then build it up in several thin coats. The finish is good, but it does run easily if put on a bit too thick. (Or perhaps I'm just krap with a spray can?)
