Sorry to be miserable bastard but I wish they would close that Loomies cafe down.

I live not far away and am embarrassed to go on any of the roads near there as I do not want to be associated with some of the pillocks who go there.

I've seen enough overtaking on double whites and heard enough noisy exhausts to last a lifetime. And if you ride a bike around here all the locals assume we like to herd in groups.

To be honest, i agree with your post about the noise and plonkers who decide to pull wheelies and overtake way over the speed limit. I hate it myself. But this is a BMW forum and generally GS riders don't tend to pull wheelies and have loud exhausts. So im sure you have nothing to worry about when we go to Loomies :) But feel free to catch the others who ruin the reputation of Loomies. I'll happily assist you. :thumb

know how you feel.

Backroader I have to say I know how you feel. I've just spent a month in Cyprus living not far from a main road and at night when the roads are clearer, the noisy pricks brigade come out with their noisy/ no exhaust bikes. and seem to redline it all the way down one of the straighter bits of 2 lane that passes for a road here. This goes on from about 7 in the evening until about 5 or 6 in the morning, and you know how it is, you're just dropping off to sleep and then................. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA WAAAAAAAAAAAAAA WAAAAAAAA(change gear) WAAAAAA WAAAAAA WAAAAAAAA (change gear)
(followed by burnout followed by wheelie followed by lots of blowing horn).

I dont think it's entirely fair to tar everyone with the same brush, but when it does happen it does tend to piss you off, as it does me.

luckily us GS lot are quite sensible and would never partake in such ridiculous activities:augie:augie:augie.

Come on down and we'll buy you a coffee, cos we're nice people ......

I suppose I'm wise enough to know who rides like a pillock and who doesn't which I agree is a bit stereotypical.

I would not mind so much what they do it's just that most of the general public who hate motorbikes, and would ban them tomorrow, think I love them and also ride like them. I use backroads and can make rapid progress across country but not at the expense of annoying all and sundry.

I might ride a bike but I do not in any way associate myself with them but all my non-motocycling friends think we all love each other to a man.

But of course I love all GS riders !

Bmw alton

Will be at bmw alton saturday morning to pick up bike, could meet there 11ish and then to loomies or just sort out a hampshire meet there, good people, free coffee....?..

Sounds good weather pending etc. Will ask the Missus if she wants to come along on her Enfield!

As the recent rider of an R1, im now far to cosmopolitan to entertain such moronic behaviour lthough wont say I havent previously! we all grow up and now I have my GSA i ride it with care plus it costs too much to fix if I thrash it. :thumb2 anyway Im around either Sat or Sunday if anyone wants a run out, Sat sounds good for a meet at Bahnstormers!! Anyone else?
:clap

Wifey is on a course on Saturday, but have in-laws staying Fri night so get away may be delayed a little.

1100hrs at Bahnstormers will do nicely though!

Does anyone have any idea who moderates the South East section? Once we get this going regularly I think a Sticky Topic may be in order...

I think the BMW bikes would give it away to my boss :) I guess there is always another day. Not to mention its not even summer yet, so have all these meets to come :thumb

will try to be there, but will have to see what time i awaken
being 24 and single i can still blag the lay ins at the weekend :D

it really depends on the temperature difference between being in bed and being out of bed

:blast Have i said something wrong, as last time i checked this was BMW forum :O (well ish) :thumb

Chaps, I might pop down if I don't finish work too late the evening before. Is it 11 at Loomies or Bahnstormers?

Well b there

Well be at bahmstormers at 11.00 am ish and then will probably go to loomies for a cuppa, after bike ready ?.

Multiple brews- to the assembled masses- please stop me from spending any money in Bahnstormers...
