Hampshire GS ers

Tis my time to bow out !

Chaps, after only 2 years of R1200GS ownership it's time to take a bow and walk away ! I've had a love / hate relationship with the 09 model 1200, i love it to bits but find it "over engineered" for a simple bloke like me. It has given me miles of pleasure during ownership but I have had an Itch which needs scratching which has manifested itself as a Triumph Rocket Roadster !!

The bike has started to p*ss me off with things like 1. Fuel sensor strip 2. Irratic TPM's 3. Burnt out loom from the handlebar controls (zdf unit), that had the heated grips on full blast even with ignition switched off !! etc. I do not rule out ever returning to the world of GSing but think I would choose the 1150GSA model, again, just my opinion.

There will be a sale of many farkles to follow !! these will be reasonabley priced as I am not greedy but need to clear the stuff out of the garage.

Cheers everyone, its been a pleasure as this is without doubt one of the premium bike sites on the www.

A pity you haven't enjoyed the GS to the full Les, will keep my eyes peeled for any Farkles (although I havent got room for many more).

Guys before i go and post in the "for sale" section and advertise nation wide, I would like to offer my items from my now px'd 09 1200GS to the locals down here in order to avoid posting itmes. I will not state what i have for sale here as it would be "technically" wrong, but if anyone wants to PM me I will let you know what I have.

I just don't get this Facebook shite, what is that all about. Why go to a different medium when this one already exists?

I tend to agree with you, but as Barnestom suggested in post #30 maybe the moderator could give us a sticky topic of our own, that would make it much easier to follow.

Just joined th facebok group you have set up, i am normally very busy working on bikes at mate rates when i can. i am in winchester and you cannot miss my bike with the dog carrier on back.
