Happiness is

Back on form Ash .... full circle eh :D

:beerjug:

I seem to do round & round in circles Micky, but I have great fun doing it. ;)

I think it keeps me semi sane, boredom is a terrible thing but I'm sure messing with bike help stop me going completely nuts..
:thumb

And my Blue badge on the screen to annoy all those that fink people with disabilities should be locked indoors.
Plenty of folk look & mutter whilst walking away saying -
" how can disabled people ride a bike "
Fuckwitts

And it annoys traffic wardens who say " you can't park there "

So I point them to the Blue badge :D

Also having a picture of your mush on the front  helps keeps the kids away from the bike when parked up :D

Good mods. I have the same screen, H&B rack and frames, but being an impoverished hack I use 58 pattern webbing panniers! The headlight I did last year with an LED that fits inside the headlamp shell, Mickey got one too. It is brighter but I think the layout of your LEDs is two one side and one the other - all three are on the same side with mine and so high beam is a waste of time over dipped, it just fills in the bottom a bit that's all. Still good to ride behind in the dark though and good daylight brightness to keep myopic drivers alert.

Now, about that old exhaust of yours....what are doing with it? If you want to sell it, I would like to buy it off you please. Mine is getting very ropey.

If Ash wants to keep his standard exhaust I have a spare OEM one - PM me if required

Looking good Ash , look forward to seeing some pictures with that Hyperpro progressive spring on the rear ;-)

I will keep my original exhaust can.. :thumb

Hopefully when the 40mm lower shock absorber arrives with its Hyperpro Spring it will stiffen up the back end as well as dropping the back down a tad.
And added to the Hyperpro front fork spring kit I have yet to fit. Will also hopefully sfiffen up the front end as the XC are rather softly sprung..:thumb

Trying to work out how you do a PM agaiun...I've forgotten!

My water pipe at the front is also going through, or at least the winter riding has taken its toll and it is very badly corroded....will a piece of copper pipe do as a stop gap measure or is there a real need for it to be secured? No, i am not jumping over rocks or sand dunes! A pot hole is about as off road as I venture. I hope to get enough confidence to increase that adventurousness in time, but for now, a speed bump is a major obstacle for me!

I may have one of those in my box of spares if you need one

I had a rush of shite to the brain Micky, which happens often & thought I could handle another 1200 :blast then a few others came on ;). ( even got another 1150 GSA! FFS :blast )
But last year I took a Guzzi to the factory & realised that time with big bikes was really at an end as my injuries have got worse especially over 2017.
Trying to get big 200KG + bikes onto my Motolug trailer was getting beyond a joke as was distance touring. :(

So if I want to continue to ride daft motorcycles I would need to go as light as possible.

But with enough power, we know how good the XC's are, so my quest was to find the best low miles XC I could get.
I found one in Scotland, but my van gearbox decided to play up so a trip that far was out, but I knew Rob ( Roberto ) had one he wasn't using & by chance we were both going to a 50th birthday camping weekend, I asked Rob about selling his & eventually said yes..

In total agreement Ash ... the 1150 and 1200's got too big and heavy for this ageing back and knees ...

I can manage the 800 OK for now (mid terrace house, 9" step to get it out) but sometimes I get it wrong :rob

The 650Xcountry is a doddle ... and when that gets too big I'll settle for a C90 with Ortlieb throw over panniers :D

I'd go anywhere on this planet on my XC :thumb
