Happiness is

Indeed Ash ... indeed :thumb

He took me out for a day on the tracks'n trails of Yorkskhire and must have been simply gobsmacked at how an old man on an old XCountry rode those tracks that he struggled with on a proper Honda off roader :nenau

Shame JB carn't buy a new one.
A PCP would be reet up his alley .... :aidan

Being the only xCountry in a sea of other bikes.

Oh and also dumping Bendix brake pads for EBC ones that have much better feel and no squeal.

Happiness is getting home from 3 weeks away working, to find a lovely g650 x country in your garage and waiting to be used,

Ash, many thanks for the bike and I took it for a quick spin and it really is a little belter, couldn't be happier with the bike, many thanks

Mike

Sad to see her go, but a small tow car is the way forward for me ......

Adventures on 4 wheels is better than no adventures. .....:thumb2

Coming back from lunch to find the postman has delivered your ADVmonster LED headlight and not getting stung for taxes.

Excuse the slightly blury photos, it was pretty dark inside my bike garage/shed.

Been out on the X-Country today, changed the oil and filter, passed its MOT :thumb

Happiness is still a well sorted X-Country :D

Liberal coating of FS365 underneath, and fitted my Patented CR (Crud Retarder)

That's all folks ... carry on regardless :P

You guessed it. Mines always on. Great extra with the XRack. Still lovin the wee bike. Still haven't missed the 12GSA. Which reminds me I must sell my 12GSA bling and bits

Love my 700GS, had the XC come with the same size fuel tank as the twins then I would still of had mine..

But would & may get another one... ;)

Very underrated bike.....

So guys, the headlamp mods?
Phillips standard bulb uprated wattage? Or ADVmonster H4 replacement?

Extra fuel tank - the Long Haul portable / attachable fuel tank is $55 delivered for a 5-litre one.......£50 for 5 litres, as opposed to £275 for an X-tank. Hmmm decisions.....

I reckon I have found some half decent panniers that will work with the Hepco pannier rails and rack - several options:
Demon Tweeks have some.
Bike Tek
Ryde

I have a 60litre SW Motech roll bag for across the seat already. otherwise the 80-litre Moto Detail kit looks ideal size and style.

Bash plate - BMW Challenge one the best affordable option to replace the plastic original? Hot weld might be lovely stuff, but I am skint having just bought the bike!

In order of importance, which mods are most urgent please?

Out on the trails . . .

Having a quick breather on the bridge of sighs (as we know what's coming either way!)

. . . . Then making it up the narrow ridge without coming a cropper (in retrospect I should have thought this stop through more as the remount and restart . . . . )

Well ridden that man. As a total numpty when it comes to even lane riding like that - is it preferable to ride the 'ridge' or the 'gutter' I see your oppo looks like he is taking the 'low road' option.

How do you find the X-bike for taking on things like this - because it is something I have never done, not as difficult as that anyway.
