The vapour blast micro peens the surface so it’s no more likely to corrode than the factory finish.
I vapour cleaned the alloy parts on my Ariel Red Hunter 30 odd years ago, and they still come up clean very easily. Any oil weeps can then be cleaned away using cellulose thinners or similar.

The peened surface finish 'closes' the pores in the casting and prevents dirt being absorbed.
