Thought it was time to say hello.

After a while watching the site I joined a few weeks ago and then bought Paul (BHT)’s mate Mark’s 03 Adventure! Its black and very well cared for by Mark.

First thing was new tyres – the old ones were near the end of their life, original Michelins at 10k miles, and anyway I found a nail in the rear tyre on day 2.

For those interested – and there seems to be many – I fitted Dunlop D607Fs, this was on the advice of Micheldever Tyres who I have always found to be excellent, when I got home I found Fanum’s excellent guide and the review seemed OK.

The bike is a big step up (literally) from my old K100RS which I had always enjoyed and I still find myself looking carefully for parking spaces.

Most of my riding will be week-end stuff and I plan to go to the Hogroast - as I am relatively local I will be a visitor rather than a camper- which is the best day?

Spending money on the bike seems to be a theme on the site - in terms of my next bit of spending – the oil cooler looks pretty vulnerable, where is the best place to find a guard and are they straight forward to fit?

Look forward to catching up with other members over the summer and am really enjoying this whole new experience.

Cheers
Ken

Hi Ken B

Welcome to the madhouse!!

I work in Basingstoke and have been associated with the town for many years in one way or another. If you see a Yellow grey grey 1200GS give us a wave.

Regards Shep

Welcome aboard Ken :thumb

The oil cooler grilles are dead easy to fit....just remove the screen, then the silver plate over the binnacle, drop the lights out and slip the cover in....then reassemble, not forgetting to fit Tobinators at the same time ;)

The grilles come from Reyno here......do a quick search from the button up top of the page and you'll see loads of pics and info about them.

If you could only come on one day to the hog roast, the Saturday will have the ride outs and the cremation of the two daves in the evening.......but surely you'll want to chuck a tent up so you can raise a glass or ten??:D

Hi Ken... welcome.... I'm just down the M3 from you in Camberley so may bump into you some time.

As for the oil cooler guard.. have a look at Reyno's

Just a few minutes to fit and very nicely made.
