Unions organised the national public sector strike for St Andrews day; difficult to differentiate who was taking the public holiday as holiday or on strike. Office building was pretty quite today .......

Strangely enough the Scottish Government who launched the St Andrews day public holiday a few years ago and who encouraged staff to take the holiday on St Andrews day, are now taking the holiday on Friday 2nd Dec 11 instead. Seems a bit like moving Christmas Day cos if it incoveniently falls mid week. Shouldn't be allowed; take it on the 30th or don't take advantage of a St Andrews day holiday at all.
