So the GS has gone , I enjoyed my time with it but it felt time for a change .
I am now the proud owner of a KTM 1290 adventure , but I opted not to buy the bread bin pannier set , so any suggestions greatly appreciated from anyone who has bought after market , or even better if someone knows of any that are up for grabs anywhere ? :nenau

You have done the same as me both in bike swaps and not going for the crappy boxes.
My first recommendation would always be Jesse luggage. They are tough as can be but are pricey. You can get metal ktm branded boxes that actually cost less than the crappy bread bins in the pp catalogue. The only other luggage I have any experience with is holan. Haven't owned them but a friends has them. Very nicely made and look good. They don't have as much space as the Jesse stuff though.

My 2011 GSA goes on Wednesday and I have opted for an orange 1190 Adventure. I am going to try to live without cases
and go back to soft luggage for the time being, it makes the bike so much easier to live with imho. I will buy a top box
for everyday use though.

I went to the Milan bike show last year and was quite impressed with the Metal Mule products, they may be worth a look.

How are you guys getting on with your KTM's by the way?

I think the KTM branded boxes are GIVI . They look ok.
I'm going to chat to someone about holan ones tomorrow . Has anyone any experience of hepco & becker ?

The ktm bread boxes are made by Shad,

I fitted holan nomada panniers today. They are the set designed for the short Wings exhaust so 2 x 38l..
