Bit cloudy on the tops. Pics not the best as just taken with my phone. Nice run though.

Nice one. Looking to be in that area early next week. That looks like my sort of road. Is it tarmacadam all the way?

Yes it's Tarmac BUT it is badly potholed and sunken in places. Nothing to worry about, just take it steady and enjoy! ;-)

Ooops. Actually meant next year. Anyway cheers all logged now. Spooky. I had seen it on a OS map earlier today whilst looking over the area and thought it looked interesting.

I've done it loads of time, but always on 4 wheels not two.
It you do it heading west, the woolpack pub at the bottom of hardknott pass is worth a visit to refresh yourself.

I'd suggest if you are doing it during the popular tourist times of the year, so very first thing in the morning, whilst everyone is still in bed or having breakfast. There are pull in places, but so much people up there who arn't use to small roads have no idea how to use them.

Good tip.:thumb

I would recommend Enduro Pro Mode

Went up on 2 day old TE, not for the faint hearted.

When you come to the end of Hardknott hang a left onto Authwaite brow and carry on down to Ulpha....it's an absolute blast.

Steve

We had 2 lots of Belgians in huge camper vans who'd decided to go up there for a look... Caused absolute chaos! 1 in 3 and hairpins doesn't mix well with campers... :eek

A couple of weeks back I did these on a 1985 Honda c70, yup, it now lives in Nottingham. I Do not know how to put photos on using a tablet

Nor big MPV's
Did both passes in August on my Serow (easy peasy) & spent a good 20 minutes being amused by a large minibus emptying all its passengers so they could give it a bit of a starting push & then left them to walk to the top :D :D

Met a couple of Germans at the Hardknott pub - one had left his big Harley in a layby half-way down because the clutch had burned out :nenau

Don't forget to stop to admire the Roman Fort too :thumb2

I was there 3 years ago on a very hot bank holiday Monday, 30C+ the smell of burning filled the air, probably brakes, I was surprised that considering the time of year and good weather it was very quiet, didn't have to stop once, another nice pub - but a few miles more is the Wasdale Head - nice view of Scafell Pike.
