ive used it many times....works great if the pipes are really bad but will still need polishing after if you want them to really shine...
apply using a cloth.....leave on for a few mins.....then rub hard as if polishing....i use a kitchen sponge with the rough side....
you might have to do it a few times and you can get a good result....
id also recommend using gloves...stings your hands if you got cuts on them....
then wash off the pipes properly cos if harpics left on them itll start to corrode very quickly.....avoid splashing the stuff on any other surfaces....
wash bike after........harpic is a great cleaner but also can damage any surface.....
It works a treat on headers. I did mine off the 1100S as well as the y-piece. I'm going to do the GS eventually too. The photo below is just after doing the Harpic, not any proper polishing. I know there's a few marks left but even so the difference is staggering for what is a 10 minute job.
When I was at sea, (arrgh, Jim Lad), We would clean the copper shells of the soup tureens with tomato ketchup. The acid in the ketchup brought back the shiny copper look.
I'd switch off the stoves after shift then give the stainless steel panels a good going over with lemon flavoured cordial (I was VERY pernickety about my galley back then!!)
