Has anyone got .....

took my LC out yesterday for a 70 mile spin. Came back smiling! what a bike, it handles and goes like the clappers, it did feel far better than it ought to as i have been recently riding my 2nd bike a funduro 650 single.

it all depends what you are use to and what you like. I use to own a 1200GS pre TC and always thought it would have been brilliant if to had another 20 horses. The LC does and is the better for it. I do agree though the quality has gone down hill since the 1150.

Bought an LC TE last year. Toured Spain on it brilliant on those mountain roads performance, brakes and handling perfectly suited to that environment. But getting there? just felt massively under geared on boring long stretches, so much so in a fit of rose tinted ness i bought the best R1150GS i could find and did everything i could to make it as good as it could be. Fitted John's tuning chip, Braided brake hoses, ABE Refurbished suspension with Hyperpro springs, HID lights and led dash bulbs, new quick detach fuel connector thingy's, correctly set paralever bearings and general full service and fettle. Took it out for a day and what a bike! got long legs like the LC doesn't have for cruising, great handling and adequate performance. Went home very happy with the result. Stowed it in the lockup and went the long way home on the LC for comparison. Thee is no comparison. The LC totally demonstrated what 15 years of development does to a brilliant concept. So if anyone wants a really clean totally sorted low mileage 1150.......

Not quite answering OPs question, but I have a R1150gs owned since 2005 and ridden 52 k miles by me. It has got me to Western Sahara, Syria, Armenia and lots of other places with no bother or mechanicals.

And have just added an LC RT to the stable.

Rode the RT 600 miles to E. Holland and back Thursday/Friday, and today rode the GS down the single track roads of Hampshire and Dorset.

Both bikes are fantastic! And life is short, so live it to the full

My 0.02p worth.
