I intended doing this rally for the last few years,taking a week off,traveling down in the heart of winter ,camping in the snow,the full works but then I wake up sunday morning sober as a judge and change my mind.

Seriously,,,,,, I'd love to do it sometime.

My reading makes it 30th Jan/1st Feb how is the 42day calculation arrived at?

it is 1020 Km from Calais
Dublin / Rosslare to Uk Thur night
friday Calais to dover cover 500 Km Kip Fri night
Up early Sat morning and get to lor about Lunch time ( get a bed for the night )
sunday back to Calais
Ferry Sun night
Monday pm back to paddyland

Dudes,


Cork to the Elephant return is a long ride for me . I am not so sure that I would want to rush through the whole experience ... Besides I am not sure if I could cover that distance and take in the rally in less than seven days... I have gone too soft .

BUT HEY... One of the things I really love about motorcycling is the many diffferent ways of doing it and I totally respect any of you hard core riders out there who wants to go for it


I agree that 9 days may be too long but was thinking 7 days ( The Wed before until the Wed after )might work...

Catch the 0900 from Rosslare to Pembroke on the Wed and ride towards Calais , Formula 1(with close by Restaurant ) or the like in Calais Wed Night Some French food and wine and on Thursday Morning ,hit the slab and head towards the Elephant, Stay in a Hotel /guest house Thur Night ,have some pork products and a bier or two and depart the next morning to arrive at the Rally sometime Friday .... Check out the Rally for a night or two... Reverse or route to arrive in Pembroke for Tue or Wed depending on how cold one is by then ...
