I bought my F650GS mid March and was a bit disoppointed to see that the expected model upgrade did not include Hazards as standard (as I was told it would be by Mr Dealer)

Not a problem as BMW do a Hazard light kit for this I was told.

Got it (winced at price - dont ask) tried to fit it, the kit by the way is a pre wired rocker switch into a multi plug. failed on 3 attempts.

Dealer tried and failed. Intense study of the wiring diagram resulted in the advice "Sorry you cannot fit Hazards to your bike, BMW have one wiring loom for factroy fitted hazard-ed bikes, and one for non-factory fitted haz bikes, yours is the latter and there is no where to plug this into"

Anyone know if this really is true, and does anyone know how I can fit a hazard light system to my bike.

Hazard Lights

£300 quid for an alarm that can do it.

It's some fiddly key sequence on my Datatool that you get when arming it sometimes with fat fingers in gloves.

Don't know about the wiring harness bit.....that sounds like a call to Spandau might be in order unless anyone here knows... (or try the 650 site whose addy escapes me right now but I've no doubt will be posted here in a bit ;) ) .

Otherwise, it shouldn't be too difficult to stick a relay and flasher unit (about a fiver in total) in to feed the hazards off a single switch mounted somewhere....there are a lot of pretty sexy switches for bikes out there now so you don't have to end up with a plasticky panel switch like Halfords do.
