Can anyone recommend a company that has recoated the mag alloy head covers and what colour match is possible?
Costs?

Also does it last any better than the standard coating against stone chips and road salt?
(Sure it could not be any worse)

Thanks Nick

Low temperature powder will work and as its a cover you can do the joint faces and bolt holes. Talk to the enamellers.

They understand bikes but will need to know it's a mag alloy part. If the paint is original BMW it will need to be chemically stripped. Its tougher than the underlying metal so cant be blasted away like normal paints. Again they need to know its magnesium.

He did my GS wheels for £25 each (after chemical stripping at £14 per wheel).
