you need to take off the screen, then the silver cowl thingy to expose the whole light unit. lossen off the retaining screw and rotate the dipped beam unit clockwise as far as it will go and retighten.
there, that is from a complete spannerphobe and i managed to do mine myself.

:D

thanks for that.
an interesting job to take my mind off the ferry crossing:barf
will have a go before then tho'
any other europe touring tips welcome
it is only me until i reach Zurich then a gathering takes place to do the real twisties for a few days.

I have seen a posting somewhere about securing the bike for the crossing which I'll find and read again

thanks again

Enjoy the scenery,

Enjoy the roads - especially the twisties.

The Swiss are very law abiding and don't like being overtaken. Exactly the opposite of the French, where our french friends will move out of the way, the Swiss will deliberately block you if they can. (At least that is my experience)

Stick to the speed limits in the villages - the speed cops are unforgiving (unless you're a local). Last time I was there, I saw them pull over about 20 cars, and let all the locals go, only booking the tourists.

The white lines and zebra crossings are often 'plastic' especially in town. SO BE CAREFUL IN THE WET.

Ride the mountain passes during the week, and leave them for the local (French, German, Italian and .... Swiss) bikers at the weekends - They are mad, and fast, they know the roads, there are lots of them - your just a tourist - so do some site-seeing at the weekend.

Don't take this as a winge - I love Switzerland. I've been a number of times, and will go back as often as I can. The scenery is fantastic, the air is clean, the place is spotless, incredibly picturesque, and the people are great.

Have a great time.

Cheers

know what you mean about the swiss.
I have been a few times flying and in the car with the family in the winter this will be the first time on two wheels.
My brother lives and works out there.
I much prefer the summer, great weather, fantastic warm clear lakes.
what I really didn't like was the way the swiss tail gate !!!

that reminds me I need a motorway pass......................wonder if I can unstick the one on the car windscreen looks like one of those security stickers but we will see.
