Hi all, I have a bit of a problem with the 11Gs.....took it for a run today, the first for about 6-8 weeks.Anyhow the bike was running fine until I turned on the heated grips..........about 2 mins after they were switched on the throttle started sticking open and had to be physically closed ....I turned off the grips and a couple of minutes later the throttle freed off again ..I tried again 3 or 4 times and the same thing happens .....also checked the temp of the grips and they dont seem to be heating very well if at all.....Does anyone have an idea what the problem might be(the bike is still under warranty so hopefully it will be covered)
Thanks

I had the same problem - the grip expands and interferes with the throttle cable housing or the bar end weight. It wears off in time as they settle down but in the interim try backing off the bar end weight bolt a bit and spraing some GT85 or light lube on the inner face of the throttle where it meets the throttle housing.

The grips never seem to get that hot (compared with previous ones I've tried) in the 1150, but if they come on at all they are probably working properly!

A small washer where the weight join the handlebar will solve your (common) problem.

Yes, the washer mod is the answer, and if the heated grips were fitted by a dealer this should have been included. My 650 Dakar did this a few years ago and my local dealer did it FOC.
