Which are the warmest?

Ive always suffered bad circulation on the bike. My Dr says its Reynauds disease. Ive had heated grips before, and though better than nothing, my hands still get cold.

Would heated gloves be an improvement, or should I stick with grips?

grips always cool down quick when you brake, or rest your fingers on the clutch lever.

I suffer with cold hands also, I got heated gloves but the hassle of putting the wire down each sleeve and remembering to bring it out under the jacket means I only use them on journeys over an hour or two.

I got the muffs before Christmas but did really get to use them before the cold snap. I think they will be better for day to day riding.

for convenience - hot grips.
for effectiveness - heated gloves.
BUT,
the cost and hassle of gloves... remember as a kid - those strings down yer sleeves holding your mittens in place? - replace string with wire etc. :D
some swear by hot grips and muffs - personally i tried it and felt like i was handcuffed to the 'Bars. no ta.
soon or later i got to get heated gloves - my circulation is awful. but i just know i'm going to wreck the gloves from over use / abuse.
for the last *muffled response* years i've got by with hot grips - but they're not good enough.

Grips were no good for me - my thumb and little finger were not in sufficient contact with the grip.
I do remember those strings - that is why my Gerbing heated gloves plug into the end of the sleeves of my Gerbing heated jacket. No strings - & connecting up could not be easier.

Hmmm, Im tempted by the heated gloves.

Are Gerbing the best or Biketech or exo2?

Are the Gerbing T5 the same gloves as the Hybrid (but without the pouch for the batteries?

I have a heated vest (which is ace) but its a Jett, so I dont know if it would be compatable with these gloves.

Gloves

I had two BMs a K75 and an R1100RT both for commuting (summer and winter) and both with heated grips. I was doing about 15,000 miles a year. I put about 75,000 miles on each bike.

Whatever I did the outsides of my hands always got cold. However in the summer when my non waterproof summer gloves got wet in the rain then switching on the grips was the solution.

I swapped my R1100RT for a new Yamaha FJR 1300 and decided against heated grips and bought Gerbings instead. Much MUCH better. They keep the outside of you hands warm as well.

After a while one glove gave up the ghost and Gerbings changed it, no quibble. The replacement was slightly tighter, that was the only negative thing.

I would unreservedly recommend heated gloves.

GLOVES OR GRIPS

I FOUND THAT HEATED GRIPS ARE EASIER,BUT HEATED GLOVES MORE EFFECTIVE AS THEY HEAT THE BACKS OF YOUR HANDS NOT JUST THE PALMS:beerjug:

I have Klan heated gloves,an alternative to gerbings.
do you already have htd grips on the k?

Alos have you though of getting gs style hand protectors?
If i remember I think the ones I have on my R80G/S are the like the k series.

Hi Colt.

No HG's on the K. I never got round to adding them cos they never kept me warm on my GS.

Dont think hand protectors would look much cop either.

When you get to checkout, it says theyre out of stock :(

They are,he swtiched over to biketech due to the amount of returns he was having from gerbing (left hand glove ,wires always breaking) also with the biketech they come with a controller attached so no more extra money to spend
Try ringing him he seems a knowlegable guy

heated grips and tocano urbano muffs all the way. Toasty warm and you can use summer gloves.
