hello,

i have noticed my heated grips dont work. i have power up the connectos that the grips plug into but they dont get hot. i have also put a meter across the grip wires and have no continuity, i am presuming that they should have a little resistance and that is why they are not working. can any one confirm this for me?

if that is the case and they have burnt out do you think 14.5v would have done it (got solid state reg/rect that puts out 14.5v)

cheers, mark

Mark, hi
Indeed you should have some measurable resistance and not the open circuit you measure. I think it should be in the order of a few Ohms when measured cold. Clould be a broken wire between the connector and the heating element and possibly repairable.

ahh uppon further investigation. i have found the wires going to the grips have broken somewhere inside the insulation. i did have to change the wiring loom a while back due to it chafing and shorting out (direct short to battery lots of smoke and pannic :D) so it looks like the bad loom fairy is still with me :spitfire

right i back off to see if i can kill that fairy once and for all :mcgun:mcgun

looks like it could be :thumb2

What are the chances of both sides breaking at the same time :nenau

they are working :clap:clap grafted some new cable on and sorted out the routing and all seems to be fine. no having to find replacements :augie
