This is my first post, hope I've got it right.
One of my heated grips has decided to pack it in, anyone any ideas what the problem might be, and if it's an easy fix?

What model do you ride? You've posted in the 'introduction' section not sure as you'll get much in the way of a response here tbh, I can move it over for you if you tell me the model of the bike :)

Plenty of past posts on this topic, if you do a search.

Same happened to the throttle grip on my 2008 GS last year. Some folk have managed some sort of repair, but I replaced mine - you can buy a replacement part from Motorworks.

wow this is brilliant ,all new website and fellow tossers being helpfull and nice ,no micky taking ,i am impressed :hide

Older models had the heating elements under the rubber grip and these were repairable as finding the break in the circuit was easier. On the '08 its moulded into the grip itself so a no go to trace the break.

They simply plug in inside each set of switchgear. My advice would be to open the switchgear, unplug and test the continuity through the grip element, if there's no or intermittent continuity then it's time to invest.

From memory, throttle side is about £70, left is about half that.

Roger.
