heated grips

a slight problem, the heated grips on my 1150 dont seem to get that hot, Ive just tried my friends 1150 and theyre really hot, any ideas where to start?

Do you have standard BMW handlebars? Are both bikes equipped with oem heated grips (ie are we comparing apples with apples?)

both are genuine bmw heated grips, and handlebars.

theres a difference, just found my multimeter so i can check it out in the morning, should be fun!!!
