Tried using my heated grips today when my hands got really wet in a welsh rain storm, and the left one has stopped working!!! Any ideas what it could be? If I need new ones (the rubbers are fairly worn from the last owner who must've been shit scared of the bike!!!) where is the cheapest place to get the original style grips. Don't want Oxford grips (although I have used em and they were quite good) because I like the proper BM ones. Cheers peeps.

Firstly, check the connections are OK.

Secondly, unplug the left grip & check for continuity with a multimeter. If there is a broken element, there won't be a circuit so you can then proceed to (very carefully) cut the old grip off with a craft knife & expose the element. Solder the broken ends of wire back together, re-cover the element & put a new grip over it all, using a bit of hairspray to lube it.

Someone'll be along sometime soon, to add anything I missed.... ;)

Hello
I am not too familiar with the 1150 and 12.

On my 1100 however the weak spot seems to be in the little white box beneath the tank where the two wires (left & right) meet up. The small prongs on the connections seem to loosen up every now and then if they have been undone earlier. (I fitted Magura bars, then got higher risers).

.....You need two sets because both heated bars use the throttle size grip.....

Or you could just buy the specific parts from BMW/Motorworks/etc - 2 individual r/h grips... ;)
