Heated Grips

My 1150 heated grips have died. I have recently fitted handlebar risers. Do they earth through the bars?
If so I need to clean some paint off the risers to get em working again

If both grips have stopped working at the same time. It'll be the connections/wiring/ or switch.

Left hand one died before the risers were fitted, so assume that one is dead. The throttle was working fine but has died since the risers were fitted. The risers are painted black, if the grips are earthed through the bars this may explain why the throttle one has stopped.

If they earth a different way then I assume they are both dead. I have cecked the litttle connectors under the tank and they aren't corroded.
