I need to leave my bike at Heathrow for 2+ weeks whilst I finish a project in Canada. Be interested to know if anyone has had any negative (or positive..) experiences of security at T1 (or T4, which seems to be the favourite) bike parking facilties. Not that keen to come back to an empty space......thanks......

Just get a cab or train. Peace of mind while you're away, and you can stock up on duty free:thumb:beerjug:

We send quite a few clients through Heathrow with our business. Until now have been sending out Purple Parking discount voiuchers for those driving (by car, poor folks) to the airport. Just asked PP if they will do bikes but they won't (and are some way off airport) but I may have found another closer parking outfit who will. Am negotiating now and will post any result. I think that the odd day or three at the airport is probably worth the punt in the T4 bike parking (CCTV, normal place for cops to stop and much less hidden away then the T1 parking as far as I can tell should equal a safer place to park) but, for those of us who want to park for much longer, something more secure needs to be sorted out, the snag being that it'll cost something to do so in secure parking. It's got to be worth investigating so more shortly, when/if I get a result and have tried it....

Hi

I have been parking at Heathrow every day for the past 7 years, having ridden up from the south coast, and since parking in the central terminal area, have never had a problem.

I admit bikes do go missing at Heathrow and mine was vandalised while at Terminal 5.

If you park in the bike park adjacent to T3 arrivals (there are 2 covered areas) then there is a manned car park kiosk nearby. Bikes are constantly going in and out so this area feels pretty safe.

At the moment, there is a bike of German origin, that has been parked there for 2 - 3 months, with the jacket and boots just draped over it and they are still there.

Where else could you do that!

Best regards

Dazlove
