Used the SP III today without any problems ok?

I am going away this coming weekend so I have just downloaded a route from Mapsource. When the download was complete the SP was just froze, no buttons worked, even to the point that I could not switch the darn thing off?

So I had to remove the batteries, BUT now when I turn it on the screen display is black where it used to be green??

Please can someone offer a solution and rather quickly please!!

Thanks

Alan

It might be the contrast.....turn it on, let it boot up from the card, then hit the power button briefly.....this will bring up the contrast/colour slider which you change with the four-way button.

HTH.

Sorry Alan, but the only help I can offer is, another trip to CostCo receipt in hand.

Hope you sort it OK.

Regards

Tim

Fanum,

I have looked at that already, the screen brightness and definition is fine its just that where the backgrond used to be green its now black??
You can still clearly see all the roads and descriptions etc, I am very confused??

Greg

Can I have your babies please??

Page 20 of the SP owners handbook would suggest that:-

"Selects between Day, Night or Automatic for best viewing. Day shows mostly a yellow background. (and the heres the best bit) Night shows a black background for less intensity in a dark enviroment for easier viweing while driving at night"

I love you Greg...........;)

Well wot can I say........?

In my hour of need there was someone thee for me :blush Although after a nights sleep it has given me the chance to rethink my words. Greg as much as I was very grateful to you prehaps the offer of having your babies was a little OTT!

So maybe the offer of a beer would suffice?

In my defence so that I am not precieved (maybe to late?) to be a complete numpty head.
When I started to download the route from the PC the screen was its normal colour. Then add to this that it then froze after the download and did not shut down like it should?

I had to remove the batteries in order to get it working again?? When it firied back up the screen had gone dark

Well thats my excuse anyway, thanks again boys

Don't worry Al, I had the same panic attack when that happened to mine the first time, I was sat in the house having a play when the screen suddenly went dark on me. Normal heartbeat resumed after I read the manual and found the section on the automatic switch of screens at sunset.
