We've been having a similar discussion over in the 800 GS section.
No 150/70 17s around anywhere. No-one's got them and the rumoured delivery date keeps moving. I've just bought a 140/80 - everyone that's tried them seems more than happy!
I've got the tyres on my bike now but I haven't ventured out yet. Not afraid of snow but I am very wary of the compacted ice on the roads here at the moment. Expect it to clear up by the weekend so I'll finally get back on the bike.
Have a slight niggling concern about running a non-standard size (140) on the back. The 1200 is obviously a heavy bike and one would assume BMW put some thought into the tyre size selection. Must make some difference? Hoping I soon forget this once I actually get to use the tyres.
Am I being daft - is there really no difference or was I too hasty in sacrificing the correct size to get the model of tyre that I wanted?
Can anyone who has run the 140/80 on the back of a 1200 give me their feedback? - any issues at all? (Srace7 is yours a 1200?)
Also is there a definitive answer on which way round to put the K60 front - as per the direction arrow or reversed?
Cheers,
Iain
