So having purchased some Tape I'm now wondering where people have used it on the GS and if anyone has created any templates?

Put some on the leading edge of the rotor blades - lovely job! Seriously - on the frame where my boots scuff, front fork legs and the main stand legs to stop the paint being stripped - all working well and preventing damage so far - coming up to 2 years now.

On paralever...

I must ride with my heels in (balls of feet on pegs) cause I've always found my heel comes into contact with the paralever, a 40mm by 80mm rectangle of lovely thick, clear heli tape has cured the scoring and 12000 miles in, doesn't even need replacing WINNER :-)

Used on the grey tank panels just where my knees grip - cut a cardboard template to get a nice shape & ensure both sides symmetrical, also on the frame tubes / bits where foot contact is likely & the rear swing arm where stone chips are likely - works a treat!

Contact points on my GS
All over my mountain bike!
Road bike on seat tube where the stones hit the carbon. :blast

Great material, just make sure surface is grease free before applying.

New Bike sat in the garage :bounce1 So hopefully grease free.

Besides the places mentioned, I have applied tape, appropriately sized, to the front of the valve covers and the front clutch cover to try and catch anything the fender extender doesn't.

Well that was painless, took my time creating some templates before applying the first piece..... Using the water method, Smoothed out and applied a little heat on curves using the hairdryer while smoothing out with a burnt out credit card only for a hole to appear in the tape!

After calming down I remembered this was a triple layer tape and it was the protection layer :blast simple to fit and get a good finish.
