Just thought I'd let you know that one of my bulbs blew in my Hella DE's so bought these

I already have my dipped beam converted to HID but didnt get the DE's done, the old DE bulbs always looked significantly duller than the HID and had a yellowy tinge! but these osrams are something else, much much much brighter and whiter and are a very close match now to the HID light.

well worth £20 for those who just havent got the pennies for Hella DE HID's

I also got the H1 version for my high beam and that too is of a similar improvement.

Before anyone says HID's are the way to go...........not everyone can spend that sort of dosh. Thought some might appreciate this if they have Hellas with normal oem bulbs

Be aware that not all lamps are designed for the vibration that can be expected from Motorcycles like ours.

Just wouldnt want your money to be wasted when these bulbs go out in a very short period of time.

This is not my wisdom but something that I learnt from BTBR who knows a thing or two about motorcycle lamps.

Hope you aint wasted your cash mate ...... :thumb

edit: Worth adding that Les Wassal told me that my Hid Burners that he fitted should last whilst I owned my bike. Told him I was keeping it for life as well .......;)

Funny...............i thought Hella DE's were actually designed for cars:confused: as driving/fog lights. They are not designed to fit on a motorbike ................more its been discovered that they lend themselves well to be fitted on a bike :thumb

While you're on about bulbs .. can anyone (en)lighten me on these PIAA thingys? I though PIA was Pakistan International Airways (or Perhaps It'll Arrive) - don't fly with them ... trust me - I've not been back ...

Lot of cash ... but if it brightens my darkness on dip ...

And yes my GS looks like a Mod's scooter on Brighton prom from 1968

You miss my point. Its the lamp that you need to be sure of. Some dont stand up well to the vibrations of a bike ...... I wasnt on about the housing.

Still if you insist that youve found the cheap solution then carry on living in your own world. Have you done any research to find out if these lamps are suitable for Motorcycle use before reccomending them to others? Fine and well if you have, I salute your community spirit ... :clap
