After an 1150 GS back when GS's were a bit of an oddity and, for the past few years, a 1200GS I'm now the proud owner of the ex SkyGod and LoIQ HP2 enduro.

I like it so far, 1 week in, and look forward to a bit of trail fun and twisty road joy.

I hope to give it some luggage capacity and fit some of the left-overs from my 1200. So, tapping in to the collective wisdom here...

Panniers - as per my question here http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=335544
Would my 'exhaust cutout' Zega panyans fit on Holan's brackets designed for GSA boxes?

Headers - Would the non-cat remus headers off my 1200GS fit. And if they do would they make a power or weight difference?

Rear Rack - Any suggestions?

Ta!

If your panniers are just the exhust cut out, no they wont fit. If the whole bottom piece is cut out of the panniers yes they will, but you may have to cut the corners out of the pucks.

I have the remus system on mine, so it should fit ok. Had to trim the end where the silencer went on but if you have a grinder its a piece of piss to do...
Rear rack, dont put too much weight on it as the subframes are made of cheese. A TT one is ok for a small bag of tools, not sure if Nutty gser still has one, he did at one point..

Hope your not too far away as be good to go play sometime..

Enjoy the new bike, sure Gaz will regret getting rid:D:D

My LHS Pannier looks like this...

And a trailling trip in wales would be a great plan sometime:thumb

I know a bloke mark who has a set of hand made panniers for a HP2 if you are interested????:thumb

MAV's bike has pannier frames.... I thought?

Also there's someone else's bike I looked at and he had frames altered to fit what looked like standard panniers. they could have been Wunderlich or Holan frames

Ask MAV, the solution I sold with the bike was day packs and I've still got the other frames I made but they are too heavy for what I wanted to use the bike for.

have fun.... on it....!

have fun.... on it....!

To late, thanks to cow poo and spilt diesel near Ripon yesterday, I've been Off it!:toungincheek

Only walking pace, and the head protector did it's thang, but it was certainly fun on the twisty roads near York and some muddy and rocky trails round Grewelthorpe.

Welcome to the clan Mark :thumb

Here's my HP with GSA panniers on the Holan rack:

The racks reinforce the subframe so you can load up the bike pretty well - we toured France 2up with this set up.

As Rocky says - watch the tail rack, it really isn't strong. And if you're going to abuse it offroad (as you should!) it will simply shake itself to bits. I now limit the load on mine to around 3kgs. A new one is not cheap...

post some pictures from memory the bike I sold had the upgraded rack on it....
