Hi Nate

I got my 12 in sunny january, Then spent the next three weeks washing it and my left boot.

I tested the 12 then the 1150 adv straight after , both on the same route. The adv turned quicker but the mirrors vibrated too much at slow speed ie: 15 mph, for me and I felt the lower seat of the 12 was better for me too. (I just love the look of the 1150 adv but the 12 was better for what I was looking for).

There both great bikes and if your looking at secondhand the 1100/1150gs's get just as good reports.

I have had no problems other than the topbox crack and the rattely screen 'both now fixed' in 6000 mls.

If your worrid about price/ value for money, look at the later Triumph 1200 Trophies, not as cheep to insure but comfy, good handeling, bags of power and so much engine breaking you don't need breaks. You can get a good low mls 03-03 (last of the line) for about 4k. I liked it but I HAD :D to have a GS, no regrets. I might HAVE to get a 12 adv now. :D

One thing about the gs, You won't break all the plastic if you drop it at the lights. :P

Nate

For what it is worth

I have changed from a honda VFR800 V tech
to an 1150gs adventure and i love it.
don't miss the all out high speeds
<----
have toured properly for the first time in years switzerland italy etc
zurich to cheshire in a day (standard seat)

well worth saving for

Since when has Cornwall been in England? Cornwall is Cornwall and not a part of England!

Jeff,

I can aonly assume you are referring to my Avatar. If you look closely it says Cornwall, Nr. England (nr as in near, close, alongside)

Will let you all know how it goes on Sunday.

15mph? Whats that then...? Being the true Sports biker, I didnt realise bikes operated under 80 at least! :bounce1

Well fancy that... it's a small world.... Room 101, if I got out on the bike more often I would've probably bumped into you by now :mmmm
Mind you, the only time I ride through D Dale is when I'm heading for the M1, en-route to Newcastle.

Can't do Harrogate tonight unfortunately (it's a nice day for it , too) but I'll keep an eye on the Yorks section and try to get along to one of the meetings soon.
If you came through the village of pies more often you'd definatly see me... cant get enough of my silver 1150GS.. and I'm still commuting to Wakey every day until they put the salt down... see you at the December meet then.. :thumb

Sorry I didn't believe you

I thought all this Nether thong talk was bo**ocks. However it is true. I do apologise unreservedly for doubting your integrity and honesty. I will buy you a  at the December meeting! The proof is in the attached document.....

Just leaves one more question........

Is ther an Innerthong then?

Cheers

You should know that geordies never lie
I'm just glad they didn't call it Leatherthong...

I'll DEFINITELY try to get to the December meeting now that there's beer on offer!  :thumb

Hi Nate. Thanks for clearing up the meaning of nr. as in near, close, alongside, but I was not referring to your Avatar. I was referring to your posting 'Just a quick hello from Sunny Cornwall, England. I assumed that as you had placed a coma after 'Cornwall' and followed this with 'England' then it meant Cornwall, England and not Cornwall near England. Regards, Jeff

I'll buy you a pint mate

Geordie Steve,

Congratulations.......You've managed yto persuade me to buy you a pint  That's no mean feat....I'm a Scotsman living in Yorkshire, how tight can you get.. :beerjug:
