I need a new lid, so I thought I'd pop along to Helmet City near Biggin Hill. Has anyone been there, and is it any good for stock and trying on?

Er, Yes, yes and yes.

I bought my Shoei Multitec from them, after trying on a lot of flip-up lids.

It's located in a sort of farm outbuilding, alongside "Beaver Water World" (ooer Missus) in Tatsfield. But they do have a lot of stock...

she is fab

yes you wont be disappointed,i went there a while ago tried on a dozen lids, she was absolutely fab, totlally recommended, good prices too.
If you go there can you tell the lady im the fella who tried on several shoeis and ,cabergs etc and i had the yellow gs with panniers, i didnt buy on the day, we ran out of time, but i'm deffo goin back to buy a lid when i get time to breathe.atb Paul.

Good stock, good prices, (especially if you are happy with 'last years colours') and the patience to let you spend all day trying on helmets, though you will obviously get a better service if you go in the week.

I only live 5 mins away, give me a bell when you're down and maybe pop in for a cuppa.

Excellent plan! I'm free for the next 3 weeks, pm me when you're free during the day and I'll arrange it for then.

Cheers for all the replies as well :thumb2

Got a tour x from them a few years ago, thought they were great, but in a really strange place:D

They are down the road from me. They used to be Ebay and shows only and had a small unit at Beaver World. They took over an empty unit opposite their old one a few years ago and are now more like a shop, however, still do the shows and have a web presence.

I also supply a brew to visiting Tossers if I'm at home and may even throw in a bacon sarnie if it's at weekends:thumb

EVEN BETTER AT THE NEC!!

If you can wait til then .. prices can be amazing

Beaver World, pfnar, fnar.

Helmet City, top people in an odd location. :thumb2 Excellent on-line service, too.

Missed shready's invitation when I went :blast

Helmet city: very odd location but excellent shop. I bought my wife's boots from them. I almost killed myself when I went to the toilet and cut my finger with the stiff lock, if you go there make sure you bring some WD40 with you! :thumb

Go visit Martin - he's a top bloke and I've bought quite a bit of kit from him on my UK visits.
Just bought my wife some new boots - great service and price..... in fact it was really nice to have the personal service from someone that enjoys and believes in what he does.

HIGHLY recommended!!!

I bought last lid there, highly recomended, even offered a test ride with one as they never sell the display lids.

Got my last two helmets, jackets, puncture repair outfit, cleaning brushes and god knows what else from them...... very good service and no pressure to buy :thumb2
