Thought I’d share this with you.
I bought an "action video camera" as my last trip I only managed to get around three minutes of footage on my bike. As I was riding through some spectacular scenery I knew I was missing out. My mate managed to strap a video camera to the side of his bike, but it was not up to it.
When the camera arrived, I unpacked it and looked at the many mounting options. I wanted it to be mounted on the top of the helmet. And most of them were set up to be mounted on one side, with either a Velcro or rubber strap. I used the two pieces of Velcro supplied to temporally fix the camera on the top, this was useful and necessary as it is important to gain correct line of sight, I several times walked around with my helmet on. The first couple of times I just filmed the floor, the line of sight doesn’t look right, as the helmet seems to point forward and the camera point up, but it is right.
I looked at the helmet (Tour X) and right where the mount needs to go is the air vent. I carefully lifted the vent and it came away, (glued down) under this was a perfect sized hole. I cut the Handle bar mount (supplied) and screwed it through the helmet, the screw sits inside the helmet perfectly, After all the helmets inside it became invisible. A perfect mount for the camera,
Now I can capture as much of my trips as I want. Happy Days !!
