help fitting exhaust

i am having a spot of trouble fitting a laser exhaust to my 96 1100 gs, the standard one seems to be firmly held in place by 12 years of crud!
i have undone all the bolts i can find and it seems free from the bike but is stuck firm to the down pipe.
any suggestions?

Plus gas / WD40 on the joint area, then boiling water on it.

If that doesn't work, the biggest hammer you have

Grab it... rock it up and down and left and right and itll move... slowly at first.. but nanometer by nanometer itll free off... if not.. smack it!!! (pauls tip for the day)
