Having a look through some old spares and came across this. Not for a basic.

Any idea what it’s from?

Thinking G/S?

It’s a brace that goes between the side pannier rails . It locates on the rails and the rear mudguard. It appears as if it is off entered so quite possibly a model with a high level left hand silencer such as R80 G/S or Paralever GS.

My R80ST (same pannier frame as G/S) does not have this brace. All GS pannier frames do.

Yes I am more confident now that it’s G/S. Someone with one fitted will confirm i am sure

I am looking for a cross brace after my right side pannier rail cleanly snapped at the weld point where it hangs from the rear carrier and this is clearly a weak spot and fixed on the later GS Airheads - i.e my R80GS PD has a rear brace from the factory as did my ex R100GS.

I found this is item:

But, Meyer told me it does not fit the ST, without explanation.

It's my understanding that the pannier frames differ only in colour, black vs chrome on the G/S vs ST - can anyone here advise?
