Hi everybody, need some help if you can spare a moment. :)

Bike stopped this morning, no spluttering, engine just cut out. Checked the fuses etc., nothing untoward found. Big healthy spark at the plugs, nothing coming out of the injectors when engine turned over though, but it sounds like the pump is priming OK.
Any way of testing the pump with the tank off ?
Any suggestions of things I should look at? :bow

We just got back from a 4000 mile trip round Europe last week so I suppose I should be pleased it didn't conk out then. :D

Any suggestions, (not of a sexual nature), will be gratefully received. Thanks in advance. :beerjug:

No fuel ...

... easiest thing to check is the electrical plug under the black cover on Rt side of bike which I think powers the fuel pump :nenau

Thats about the extent of my mechanical/electrical skills, but someone wiser will be along soon :augie:

Edit: :blast 'pump priming', cancel the above. but at least I've bumped it :thumb

Nice one oblertone :mmmm thanks for the bump though:thumb

Does the Hall sensor cut off the fuel to the injectors, (serious question), if so it will be worth a look,

Any other suggestions please?
:beerjug:

Fuel delivery

Not 100% sure but the motronic unit it goes into controls the timing and fuel delivery to the engine, the hall sensor is not an unknown failure either so maybe if that has failed it cuts fuel delivery. Worth a check of the wiring at least.

Totally agree, I will have a poke around the wiring tomorrow :D
I see Forry is having a bit of trouble too, people talking about fuel filters and water in the fuel tank .... something else to have a look at... if there is water in the tank would it squirt from the injectors as fuel would when the motor is turned over?

Fuel

Steptoe will probably correct me buit the fuel pump runs of the hall whatsits, possibly fing one hose has come off the filter, or it's full of crap, if it was changed by the dealers they possibly havent as it's a bit of a performance.
have a look at this first. After that E bay might help!.

Cheers Dave, looks like I will be busy over the next couple of days :augie

Mine sprays fuel from the injector when you turn it over Smudge :thumb2

Soted

Bike sorted now, :D must have been a blocked fuel filter as nothing else untoward found. :)
Thanks for your help in diagnosing the problem in the first place. :bow
Just waiting for my replacment tank stickers from our mate humvee, they do not like being left soaking in a pool of petrol over the weekend :tosser
