Dont need a long ext to take them off, r/h bar is held on by the lower bar. This is removed by just removing the bottom section and top fixing under the tank at the front.

What you describe above is the classic usual case of the inner round fixing broken off/out of the crash bar and still attached to the frame with the crashbar bolt
. Go out to your bike, have a look on the R/H crash bar, and then have a look at the bolt that attaches it to the subframe/engine.
See that really thick round washer under the bolt - that's part of your crashbar.
