Help needed for removing R1150GSA BMW crash bars

Dont need a long ext to take them off, r/h bar is held on by the lower bar. This is removed by just removing the bottom section and top fixing under the tank at the front.

.

:homer:doh Oh dear. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing :D

What you describe above is the classic usual case of the inner round fixing broken off/out of the crash bar and still attached to the frame with the crashbar bolt :D.

Go out to your bike, have a look on the R/H crash bar, and then have a look at the bolt that attaches it to the subframe/engine.
See that really thick round washer under the bolt - that's part of your crashbar. :D

:yelrotflm He's right too. Check out the photo I posted of mine in page one of thread.

Did you get the bars off yet Gary?

Not taken them off yet been a bit tied up, was going to wait till I order the H & B bars then do the work in one go, but after the comment that it just sits over the rear bolt on the right, I'm intreaged now might may have a go tomorrow :)

crash bars

I took mine off after a prang, they will fit but need "springing slightly to get on.
I have kept the sump plate on but if anyone wants the bars for free come and collect them, I am NOT going to send them so anyone wants them send a pm.

Bar's now removed :-)

The last right hand bar wouldn't come off even with the fron un-bolted, but with a 10inch 3/8 extension managed to remove it....

Cheers guys, thanks for your help. :thumb2
