OK forum, bit of a list:-

Wife has an I pad upon which, amongst other things, she deals with her e-mail. However, once it was configured etc, old dated e-mails seem to have dis-appeared for no apparent reason....any ideas where they might be hiding?

OK, the music bit.

I've got music on the following:-
> i tunes library on laptop
> i touch
> i pad
And I'll want to have music on my recently purchased i phone.

However, due to having a replacement hard drive fitted onto lap top, the music that I have on the lap top, i pad & i touch is different.

What I want to achieve, is to have an identical music library on lap top, i touch, i pad & now i phone....

So, is this where the i cloud comes into play, & if so, can someone be kind enough to give me some assistance on the how to......

Thx in advance....:thumby:

Assuming you are using the ail program it came with, e ails in sub folders cannot be seen in the inbox, you need to look further down the tree.

who configured it?
are you paying for iCloud subscription?
how are you backing it up/ time machine?

if you using the stupid mail package in comes with, it hides old email in date strings it's bloody confusing.... (a nice way of saying it's crap)

You don't need Chrome to use gmail. Mac mail is very reliable, but web based mail program's like gmail, iCloud etc. have improved, it does depend on what you do.

sounds like maybe you were using an IMAP mail service where mail was stored on the server, then the settings got changed/logged in on different account???

maybe

use a 3rd party program to extract the music files from the various iOS devices.

put these files in itunes, on the laptop.

sync iOS devices with itunes on the the laptop.
