Ok, changed the wheels on my 1100GS and the new wheel on the front had no fixings for the ABS ring.( so I used a pressed ring and not the original cast abs ring as the pressed ring fixing points are located at the brake dish points).
Now it feels like the ABS ( that gritty feeling ) is engaging when braking at low speed. It is fine at speed.

Any ideas

Pressed ring is for later 2002 onward servo brakes.

Steptoe, I was thinking that the back wheel is a cast ring and the front is a pressed ring. I was going to try and change the back one to a pressed ring also to see if that works. Or it might just confuse the abs brain.

But will give it a go now that I am back from the trip.:aidan
