Linda, my better half, has sold her R1150R and kept the R1150R/GS panniers.

We're looking to sell them (they are like new) but the keys went with the bike and they are locked, handles up but latches down beneath the red flap:rolleyes:

I've tried holding a small drill in some needle nosed pliers and wiggling it into the access hole under the latch, hoping to release the lock barrel but nothing gives. Can this be done?

I've read the link re changing the barrels to fit new keys but that assumes they are unlocked to start with, not the case here.

When this happened to me the only way to get them out was to drill them.
Good luck!

Go to a bmw dealer they should be able to get the key number for you or phone the people you sold your bike to.

Try a locksmith. They may be able to do something with them? :nenau

Get the bloke who bought it to bung the spare key in the post,or if he was local, pop around with the panniers:thumb2

Thanks to all. The bike went to a dealer as a trade in and was moved on to 'trade' for a pittance considering how nice it was. I'll speak to Southport Superbikes tomorrow. Hopefully they'll have the key number especially as we had to buy a spare too. Fingers crossed.
