Gail and I are after a bit of a tour after the gathering so is this do-able in a day (sorry if it's obvious)
Ullapool, follow the A835 to Ledmore junction, turn left, follow the A894 to Laxford bridge, then the A838 to Durness then onto Tongue, then down the A836 to Lairg, then the A839/A837 back to Ullapool.

We will then attempt to take over Oonyakastaan;)

Do-able? It really depends on how you intend tackling this route. Are you on foot or in some kind of motorised vehicle? If it's the former: Nay.

The latter: Aye

IMO of course :thumb2

An easy days run is that.

For a wee detour, take the A837 to Lochinver, not forgetting to visit and sample the products of the Pie Shop, then take the B869 round the coast to Unapool and back on to your original route.

It's still a days run, unless you over indulge in Pies.

Have a great ride whatever route you take.

You should only need two items for your invasion to be a guaranteed success:)

The route you describe is a favourite of ours ...........very do-able in a day .The Lochinver to Unapool run is the dogs danglies taking you along single track road right on the shore...........

Mort, that's the route we're doing on the rideout on Saturday (t'other way round though).

180 miles (+ bit more if you do Bumble bee and Boons' bit). 6 hours.

You'll enjoy it.

If you want decent nosh in a nice setting, go to the Craggan Hotel in Talmine/Melness...the turning is on your left just before the causeway accross the Kyle of Tongue. It's not as 'touristy' as the hotels in Tongue and muchly friendlier.:thumb2
