Help with identification of a - well I do not know what it is...

So the pics above are from my 2013 1200GSA, last of the oil heads, I believe. I do not know what the cable in the picture above is, or where it connects, too, even if it should connect to something. It seems to go under a fairing piece below the seat, but I am still none the wiser.
I came home from a ride yesterday and it was just there, hanging out the front not doing anything. Not anywhere near the wheel, but a bit too close to the engine for my liking, not to be doing something. The kind of copper (?) metal piece at the end seems to be blocked up - should it be?
Should it go into some thing to make a connection?
Any helpful, knowledgable, appropriate suggestions would be much appreciated. thanks guys, and girls, if any of you have a clue that's cool too.

Can’t remember what they’re called but it’s the temperature sensor for a device that richens your fueling to try and smooth out modern jerky throttles
it looks a lot like the ambient temp sensor for the joke that is the pointless booster plug ?
its meant to be an improvement to the early design of fake cold weather to enrichen the fuel mixture - It goes on the AIT (Air Intake Temp sensor) and with a new ambient sensor away from the engine heat allegedly works better - except within 15 miles the engine adaptions will have zero'd out the slight enrichment it had brought as there is nothing about these that can work
sure the bikes fueling desperately needs help especially as running E10 Ethanol fuel weakens the already too lean BMW map by a further 4% but those aren't the way to do it

As LF says, it's the temp sensor for a booster plug device. I'm guessing you didn't know it had one fitted! If you follow it back, it's probably plugged into the air in take temp sensor.

everytime i come across these , i unplug them , set-up the fuel injection , and give the bike back ......and wait for the punter to complain ( i do the same with P.Commanders ).
i did a Cali once sent him home, going test the top speed . he said 98mph ! then he said it had 1 of these , i hadn't spotted it .
came back a week later , tested it . put that bit you see in 60 deg water , diagnostics said 6 degrees !
unplugged it , did a FI set-up , sent him hom , 125 mph .
