Here in Eygpt

just over half we and 1350km on it is starting to tack a told on my back, the seats are rubbish and I have my AIR HALK and could have sold it 26 times,

If they'd done the BMW course they'd all be standing up:D

Most have never ridden off road before, and a short bref was given, scotters have been flying allways, everybody did amasing seeing the cercomstances.

I have learnt that these scooters are great offroad in sand, if I could find away out of here straight home I would ride it back, no problem.

Finally back into civilition, internet, back in a managers office before 26 other riders work out what I`m up too. As no Wi Fi.

You forget how much we all rely on the iternet, as soon as we stop somebody takes out their phone too check to see if it has a signal.

This hotel seems to be at the top of the World, we have arrived here early as the local Mayor wants to make a visit, most days we have just made it too our destination by dark.

Moving though the desert at 80 km this has its advantages the desert looks splendid, and last night the White Desrest it was catedrial like sandstone, yellows and all.

The roads well tracks have been hard on the bodies but not the Korena Scooters we are all amased at the way these things have stood up too the bashing we have endured on them

Apart from all eggsusts have gone and the odd battery fail, they are brilliant, SYM means a motor for life and I`m beleaving this.

Egyptian roads when we are on them are someting else, and the tracks are worse, mostly graded and its like riding a vibrating table for 12 -13 hours, all days start at 5am and finish at 6pm.

The Hotel last had a blocked toilet and the systene didnt work so I lifted the lid and there was no working, so the moved us to another room, went too the loo thought I would just check first and yes you guest it this loo had no workings, I was about to all the manager again and thought better of it.

Egyptian plumbing beat Spainish and Morrocan plumping by miles, not yet been brave enough to get my camera out.

We have drank the Hotel out of beer we bought the only 5 bottles, I think the may just be missing a trick here as a bottle of beer is or was 30 egyptian pounds, and the guys are baying and I think 50 0r 60 would be payed.

Theres a few American riders a guy from Singapore, Owen from Jersey and two from Canada the rest are Egyptians, mostly that have a bussinesses , one is a bank manager lovly man he spends all his spare time cleaning his scooter.

Living the dream there Steve, whilst the rest of us go to work in the rain.

Have fun and keep the reports coming.:thumb2

I never thought I would end up here, its too hot, all the organisers are down bar one, 4 hurt and all experiance scooter riders, I can` tell you how hard the roads are, real real or prity bad.

Even the BOSS MAN is down and out, real bad luck as he has become a real celebraty in the country due too his hard work promoting the country.

We are real extras in a movie here but that does`t matter at all as we have become part of it all, Mayors vist hotels were ever we are, bands turn up to play for us.

It will be very interesting too see what comes of it all, as we are photoed and filmed all the time, I hope they pull it off in English as thats where their market is, I think the want to run these Challenges all over the world.

I can only see them raod based as this one was too do a section off Egypt that is about to be tarmac. They were talking of New York to Niagra falls if they go money based and not sponsership they will have to drop the filming as the past 2 days the last 100 k has been pain full due to them getting the best shoots.

Anyhow the manager wants to use his key board, hes watching over my sholder at my one finger typing I`m looking up and smilling as i do it one handed, while drinking a hot tea in the other hand.

They ask you too cover the PC over with a sheet at the end to stop the sand, its the cleanset old P.C i have ever see, I think we could lean somethink here.

Do look on Facebook as the young ladies working hard updating it

Steve

Tell my mate Owen to send those photos of the Jersey Airhead to my email address.:)

I was chatting to him in Jersey a few weeks back and he said he was going away again but I never connected it with your trip. Small world. :)

Sid

Well thats it, its been very difficult posting as we have been in the out and behond, we have all gone or seperat was now and Im in a hotel in Cairo 2 days and needed to relax.

Being thrown together with folks from loads of nations is I find difficult as I am not normally that international.

I find it very difficult I think its something too do with my self confidence and I find or found them all highly intelligent and knowable, almost in some cases so much as to dislike and thats bad as its my hang up, for not understanding them.

yeh right.

Anyway, being under the umbrela of a very well organised event for the past 10 days I,m back on my own and its a very strange feeling, I have had a room mate OWEN, hes on his way home back to Jersey.

I does feel very strange as we have been run on a very tight sceduele for the event, up at 5am and away by 7am bags in the fouay by 6.30.

The Egyptain folk said this trip could not be done, we have had a Minestery man with us all the trip a coastguard secrity fellow, the red tape or paperwork to get us though the millatery zones was a very thick binder of papers
