Im just renewing my certificate and its not just the Met Police charge the Doctor wants £75.00 to sign the application !!

just paid £50 but had to argue that it was a renewal and not an application.. make sure they aren't doing the same..
I had to pay £120 for my renewal medical - and it took over 9 months for Staffs to do the paperwork, then the interview was done over the phone. THREE extension certificates I had before they got my new one to me. I have it all to go through again next year.
It's the way they seem to do it. Only need to pay for Docs report for renewal. Saves them all the digging to see that nothing's changed since first application. Didn't know you could get away without it.

My Doctor has just charged me £89 for a renewal and then it was £65 for the police. This is the fee for a coterminous renewal. In fairness it arrived a fortnight before my old one expired.
Ive heard of people getting 2, 3 month extensions due to high demand and the renewals taking some 9 months, I started the process with about 4 months to go, but got my reminder 3 months before the exp date !! Ive just sent it all so will see what the story is !!

My force has always stated apply when you get the renewal, and your cert will be ready by the expiry date, this time round I got a 2 week extension, due to the now mandatory gp checks

Santa that's really good timing, albeit I doubt they are that busy in the North Pole LOL
Mine has gone to the MET so no Idea how long it will take, its not out till mid April so hopefully !!
