Hertfordshire Green Lanes - RUPP challenges

I am based near to potters Bar, i ride a drz400s, most of the ride out I am involved with are found on another site, if you take a look at this thread

This time of year all the lanes in Herts are OK for 11XX GS or smaller... I may well do a ride 5th or 6th

May well join you, on a 1200GS. Haven't had it on the mud in a while so it's about time I got the TKCs dirty.

I live in Hitchin and would love to join you guy's for a muddy ride out sometime but I have a 1200GS on road tyres, I guess that's no good for the current muddy conditions?
Could you let me know if there is a possibility of a ride out sometime, I have a few of the local OS maps but so far no experience of actually going off road.

... this weekends not good for me, I've got the kids. Hopefully next time though.

We're off to see Rye House Rockets at Hoddeston speedway track tonight. Should be good. Anyone else been? It's pretty reasonable (£14 adults £3 kids!) & no need to book tickets. Cheap dirty thrills IMO.

Has anyone ridden throught the ford at Fernaux Pelham, Voilets lane to Barleycroft End? I rode up there yesterday & got up the track as far as the water, but being on my own & not on knobblies I turned back.

I'd love to know if it's passable...

Not sure how high the intake is on that. If it looks like a river rather than a series of large puddles, you probably wouldn't get a 1200GS through it

Is anyone up for a pootle this Saturday late pm or Sunday morning, I'm thinking just a couple of hours starting out somewhere near Hertford. Am open to suggestions though....?

That's good for me Steve, i've got some TKC's being fitted at 1pm in Welwyn, so a shake down could well be in order... Tell me how you're doing Saturday morning & i'll check in around 12.

slight problem..

My front wheel spindle bolts are rounded, I've managed to get them off but the KTM centre have none in stock so I've had to order on-line....I must remember to thank the last owner for that

You never know I might get them tomorow am but its looking a bit shakey.

Guy's just a thought, why not start another thread for your ride outs, as opposed to using this one? Yeah I know.....it is all too confusing for me on a Friday
