Cheers High-Tower. I'm Oxfordshire, which bizarrely gets silly cold in winter, and am looking for something for a 140 mile a day commute, mostly m-way. I know V is great from endless reviews and comments here, but £ is an issue and the IV looks solid enough.
I have had one of these for years ,cant remember how many but must be more than 8 years. worn it for tens of thousands of miles and although it is now looking a bit used is still the most comfy ,warm ,but breathable and waterproof jacket . I have had BMW streetguard and tourguard but this is by far my favourite . Go for it if it fits you.
I have a IV and had it about 8 years. I average about 12000 miles a year and use it in the winter months. I use a twat jacket, never had the trousers, the rest of the year. Mine is a bit worn now but completely dependable in cold wet weather. I use the nikwax wash in stuff on it every now and then and it still copes with everything thrown at it. Good kit and you won't go much wrong with it.
Just spent a wet week in scotland. my rallye 3 suit
Kept me dry and warm, no problems at all. I was abit
Ashamed in buying a "twat suit" too be honest. But after
This trip i know i made the right call! Awesome suit..
Had both.
Master 4 was a better jacket IMO. Never leaked and was a good fit. Sold it to Schtum a few years ago & swapped it for a TW** suit. Wife has a 10 year old Master 4 & though I keep trying to get her to change it she wont. As long as its cleaned & proofed regularly they go on & on. Sold the Master 5 after 8 months, dont think the quality is as good.
To be honest, buddy, pal, amigo I don't really care. You obviously passed a great deal onto me. As I said, it's still going strong and being worn by my son. I just bought a lightly used Master V on ebay today for a good price, so it'll be interesting to compare the quality.
